The Unveiling of Imelda Cajipe Endaya’s Abstractions
Imahica art unveils renowned painter and printmaker, Imelda Cajipe Endaya’s collection of timelessly elegant, beautifully modern prints in the exhibit “The Abstractions of Cajipe Endaya”.
In this solo exhibit, artist Imelda Cajipe Endaya shares with the public her little secret– that she is also an abstractionist. She told Imahica in her interview that “the abstract side and style I will reveal and exhibit is something that not many people know about. I am known for my representational style which incidentally will be featured in my upcoming retrospective exhibition this September at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.” Cajipe Endaya’s prints were created in previous decades from the 1970s up to the late 1990s. This solo exhibit is Imahica Art’s tribute to Cajipe Endaya as a modernist and abstractionist.
The various meticulously done prints in limited edition which will be exhibited at Imahica Art are graphic and abstracted interpretations of subjects and objects related to the Filipino identity which Cajipe Endaya loves to explore. Among these are salted eggs, rice paddies, archeological diggings, indigenous patterns, and Filipino landscapes– all deconstructed, abstracted, and simplified. Her enduring, contemporary style with witty Filipino touches will appeal even to the millennials and to the global Filipino in this digital age.
Come and visit us and share the joy of seeing these exquisite and covetable pieces. The exhibit will open this July 23 and will run until August 12, 2022 at Imahica Art, 2nd floor of Lee Gardens, Shaw Blvd., Old Wack-Wack, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.
