Nestor Vinluan’s artworks can be identified through the use of highly-refined and subjective imageries of nature that result in “strangely mesmerizing” manifestations as described by art historian Rodolfo Paras-Perez.
A seasoned personality in the academe, Nestor Vinluan earned his Bachelor in Fine Arts degree from the University of Philippines’ College of Fine Arts in 1972 and his Master in Fine Arts degree from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York as a Fulbright Hays Scholar in 1980. Eventually, the artist took a significant role in the University of the Philippines as a Dean for the College of Fine Arts from 1989 to 1998. With a career that continues to expand in four triumphant decades, Nestor Vinluan remains to be a highly-respected force in Philippine art.
