A repetition of forms to signify mass media. An unmade bed to represent someone’s state of mind. A self-portrait that celebrates beauty diversity.
These are only a few of the familiar themes associated with contemporary art, an umbrella term where the arts of recent times are under. As broad as the varieties it entails, the starting point of contemporary art is rather vague, with some considering it to be on the cusp of the 1950s while some during the late 70s.
The fluidity yet time-conscious nature of contemporary art allows artists who practice this form to freely express complex issues that reflect our ever-changing, diverse, and globalized society. Understanding such complexity, contemporary art raises thought-provoking questions with indefinite answers in the most artistic ways possible.
Commitment, curiosity, and an open mind; this exhibition celebrates the diversity of contemporary art that evolved throughout time. It features the work of various artists with diverse backgrounds in painting, sculpting, printmaking, digital media, performing, assemblage, and more.
Aside from these talented artists, Imagus: Rave of Art and Spaces has also been made possible through the support of our dedicated partners and sponsors – Fulgar Architects, Fabrication Manila, PhilBIG, and Kaothu Builders.
