Ross Kim Almendras

Ross Kim Almendras is a self-taught Filipino artist whose work is a product of years worth of refining his craft. His background in Advertising Design from College of the Holy Spirit Manila has a hand in his unwavering passion for creative disruptions in his pieces. While Almendras has dabbled in mediums such as charcoal, pen, and oil, what’s part and parcel to his artistic practice is his creative expression. 

His distinctive use of black hues and red accents is what sets him apart. His keen eye to detail has let him create his bewitching pieces. Almendras does not shy away from the vulnerabilities of human existence. His conceptually rich pieces explore human feelings like grief and fear, using art as his form of healing.

Almendras was also a semi-finalist in the Philippine National Oil Painting Competition in 2015. Following this, he has been nominated as a semi-finalist multiple times in the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence in the oil category in the years 2016, 2021, and 2023. In his pursuit of his artistry, Almendras has also extensively joined group exhibitions from 2022 onwards.
