Roberto Acosta

Roberto Acosta

Roberto Paredes Acosta manifests his deep affection for the mountains and tells about his encounters with country folk in unglazed, slip-decorated terracotta. He developed this artistic style during his stay in 2001-2002 at the Taller de Ceramica, Universidad Veracruzana, in Xalapa, Mexico. In 2010, he was one of Baltimore Clayworks’ visiting artists. In 2016, he was the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence grand prize winner for sculpture.

Roberto earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor in Landscape Architecture, and Master in Fine Arts degrees from the University of the Philippines Diliman and taught at UP Baguio for 19 years. His work is in numerous private collections and is in the permanent collection of Pinto Museum in Antipolo.
