Lia Torralba

Born in 1963 in Manila, Lia Torralba pursued her education in Fine Arts with a major in Painting at the College of the Holy Spirit in Mendiola, Manila. Intrigued by organic forms and textures, she delved into sculpture, making clay her primary medium of expression. Lia actively facilitated workshops on Creativity and briefly served as a teacher at St. Scholastica’s College. Additionally, she was a faculty member at Kalayaan College, contributing until its closure in 2022.

A passionate advocate for Women’s Rights and Issues, Lia Torralba previously served as the President of KASIBULAN, a collective of Women Artists in the Philippines.

In her current phase, Lia has returned to her artistic roots, showcasing her paintings in both Watercolor and Acrylic Media. Her exploration of themes revolves around Light, Nature, Transcendence, Liminality, and the transformations she observes in her mind, soul, body, and society during the concluding phase of her physical existence.
