Janice Young
Janice Liuson-Young is fluent in both figurative and abstract languages, creating expressive works in oil, acrylic, and multimedia. Her subjects vary widely, capturing everything from the experience of daily life to nature, from dynamic figures to serene still lifes, as well as evocative dreamscapes. Her abstract expressionist approach has allowed her to experiment and employ new techniques and materials, exploring fluidity of strokes and the boldness of colors. It’s her technique and dedication that helped her explore thoughtful compositions. With her extensive participation in group exhibitions and a solo exhibition under her belt, Liuson-Young was able to showcase her unique abstract expressionist approach.
Aside from being a visual artist, Janice Liuson-Young takes pride in being an arts educator. She was the class valedictorian when she finished her degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts, major in Visual Communications (cum laude) at the University of the Philippines, Diliman in 1986.
