Fel Plata

Fel was born and raised in Batangas City. She’s a graduate of Commercial Arts under Fine Arts and has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Major in Advertising both from UST. She started painting near the end of 2011 and became a member of Kasibulan in 2012, and has been actively participating in different group art exhibitions. Realism is her forte in painting but she doesn’t like her art to look photographic. She creates landscapes, portraits, and still life using watercolor, acrylic, or oil, doing her best in chiaroscuro and three-dimensionalism. She switches from vibrant, earth tones to monochromatic colors. Sometimes combining them with plaster or clay on canvas, paper, and wood. Storytelling is the main focus of her art which allows the viewer to connect with their own thoughts. Few of her awards are Finalist in Swatch Shirt Design in 2011, Finalist in Sining Para sa Kalikasan in 2012, Winner in Freeway Art Bag Design in 2014, Awarded as 1 of 13 Art Leaders in 2015, Winner of Art in Embassies Art Challenge in 2016 and 1 of Top 5 Artists at Transwing Art Gallery’s overnight residency in 2017.
