Filipino contemporary artist Dave Lock is known for his emotionally ravaged visuals, nightmare-ridden creatures, and the total obliteration of beauty—especially in his earlier artworks. His raw skill and technique has allowed him to explore themes of campy horror, allowing one to envision his work as depicting harrowing symbols of death and fear. In the tradition of Francis Bacon’s paintings, these images represent traumatized bodies, reflecting the irrational aspects of modernity, dystopian themes, and self-destruction.
