
CESARE A.X. SYJUCO
CESARE A.X. SYJUCO (b. August 20, 1953) is an esteemed Filipino multi-media artist, painter, poet, and art critic with international recognition.
Known as the “Golden Boy of Philippine Art,” he has earned prestigious awards such as the TOYM (Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines) Award, the Gerry Roxas Foundation Presidential Award, and the Gawad CCP Sa Sining Biswal from the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Other honors include the AAP Grand Prize for Painting, Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Poetry, UNESCO Gold Medals for Photography and Design, and the CMMA Outstanding Filipino Communicator award.
Cesare A.X. Syjuco was the first recipient of the Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Award for Art Criticism and received the Araw ng Maynila “Patnubay ng Sining at Kalinangan” Award.
His landmark exhibition, Flashes of Genius (2004-2005), at the Cultural Center of the Philippines was celebrated as a brilliant achievement. Since then, Cesare A.X. Syjuco has continued to hold solo exhibitions and live performances of his avant-garde poetry.
