Arel Zambarrano
Originating from Banate, Iloilo Province, Arel Zambarrano pursued his academic journey at Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), earning both a B.S. in Industrial Technology with a major in Drafting and a B.S. in Architecture. In 2012, his artwork titled “Homecoming” received esteemed recognition as the Jurors’ Choice in the national finals of the Philippine Art Awards. Additionally, he achieved success by passing the Architecture licensure exams.
Rather than following the path of other emerging artists who flocked to Manila, Zambarrano chose to remain in Iloilo City, where he established his own sanctuary of creativity called The Red Table. This studio serves as a nurturing space for his own artistic pursuits as well as a source of inspiration and support for his fellow artists.
Through his vibrant paintings and thought-provoking installations, Zambarrano delves into personal and societal issues, employing bold colors and sharp objects that symbolize shared struggles and evoke contemplation about the fears and uncertainties prevalent in our modern era. He firmly believes that the essence of art lies in its ability to reveal the truth and convey genuine beauty.
