Allain Hablo is a Filipino contemporary artist known for his captivating and thought-provoking works that delve into the depths of human emotion and introspection. Born in Estancia, Iloilo, he developed an early passion for the arts and pursued his creative journey while going through his formal education at Central Philippine University.
His artistic journey began at an early age, with his talent and dedication recognized during his formative years at Central Philippine University. He completed his elementary, secondary, and college education at the same institution, where he earned his AB Political Science degree in 1991.
Allain Hablo’s artistic excellence and unique vision have been acknowledged and celebrated in various prestigious art competitions throughout his career. Notably, he was a finalist in the Shell National Students Art Competition in 1991 and received recognition at the Philippine Art Awards in 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2006. In 2011, he secured the top spot in the 1st Banko Sentral Tanaw National Painting Competition.
Furthermore, his artistic achievements have been affirmed through awards and honors like the Juror’s Choice in the 1993 Art Association of the Philippines Open Art Competition (Mixed Media Category) and the Juror’s Choice in the Philippine Art Awards in 2005. He also secured the Third Prize in the 2000 Metrobank Young Painters Annual Art Competition (Oil on Canvas Category).
Allain Hablo’s talent transcends geographical boundaries, and he has been recognized internationally. He was the proud recipient of the 9th Annual Freeman Foundation Vermont Studio Center Award in Johnson, Vermont, U.S.A., from 2001 to 2002.
In 2016, he was honored with the Garbo Awardee distinction at the Visayas Island Visual Artists Exhibition and Conference held in Iloilo. Moreover, he received several Honorable Mentions in the Art Association of the Philippines Open Art Competition in 2001, 2002, and 2003, in various categories such as Drawing, Painting, and Mixed Media.
As an artist with a profound dedication to his craft, Allain Hablo has held numerous one-man shows that have captivated audiences and art enthusiasts alike. From his inaugural one-man show at the Red Mill Gallery in Johnson, Vermont, U.S.A in 2001, to his more recent exhibits at various esteemed galleries in Metro Manila, Iloilo City, and beyond, his artistic journey has been one of growth, exploration, and self-discovery.
His artworks have also been featured in selected group shows across different venues and countries, further solidifying his place in the contemporary art scene. From exhibiting at renowned galleries in the Philippines to participating in international showcases such as the 2nd ASEAN Art Exhibition in Pattani, Thailand, and exhibitions in Singapore and the United States, Allain Hablo’s artistic prowess has made an indelible mark in the art world.
