Arlene de Castro Anonuevo

Arlene De Castro Añonuevo or Adecastroan started her career as a visual artist in 2009 and had her first solo exhibit “Bighani” at the Heritage Art Gallery and Antiquities. She is an AB Sociology graduate of UP Diliman and has taken up to two years of studies for Bachelor of Fine Arts major in painting also at UP Diliman.

Before becoming a full time visual artist, Adecastroan was an international flight attendant of Cathay Pacific Airways, an assistant hotel front office Manager of Manila Midtown Ramada Hotel, and a consultant of Speechpower.

Adecastroan had three solo art exhibits, one two-women art exhibits, and participates in various group exhbits, and participates in various group exhibits. She used to be a member of the Tuesday Art Group, PPVAI, UWAAP, is a member of Linangan ng Kulturang Pilipino, and is currently an active artist member of the Erehwon Art Council.

Aside from painting, Adecastroan writes, recites poetry, models for photography, and takes care of some rescued animals.

Adecastroan is a Zambaleña who was born and raised in Iba, Zambales. She is related to Catalina De Castro, the mother of our hero Andres Bonifacio who was also born and raised in Iba, Zambales.
