Vida Soraya Verzosa
Vida Soraya Verzosa is a self-taught outsider artist. She started developing films at home and launched a guerilla-style one-woman show at an underground punk rock gig. Later, she transitioned to mixed media with cryptography, incorporating spiritual themes informed by a gender and development perspective. She joined KASIBULAN as a writer, visual artist, and ad hoc legal consultant. Her works have been exhibited at the Four Seasons Hotel Damascus, Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Pasig City Museum, Galeria Delas Islas, Conspiracy Garden Café, Erehwon Art Gallery, the House of Representatives, Sining Kamalig, Jaime Velasquez Park, SM Marikina, Marikina City Hall, Ateneo Law School, University of the Philippines Los Baños, and the Philippine Science High School. When she is not immersed in artmaking, Vida works as an advocate for distressed Overseas Filipinos as a human rights lawyer and currently, the Chargée d’Affaires/Head of Post of the Philippine Embassy in Damascus, Syria.
