Kat Ong
Visual Artist
Katrina Q. Ong is a Manila-based visual artist whose practice explores acrylic, oil pastel, aerosol, and ink. With a background in editorial writing and as the founder and designer of Flutter Statement Jewelry, Ong brings a narrative sensibility into her visual work, translating stories into vivid, energetic compositions. She reinterprets the language of youth and adornment into euphoric, expressionist scenes.
She has participated in various exhibitions and art initiatives across Manila and is a member of several artist collectives, including the Floral Artists of Manila and 88 Tsinoy Artists. In December 2025, she participated in a group exhibition curated by Cid Reyes.
Ong began her creative practice in 2012 through beadwork, creating necklaces, earrings, and body adornments. Alongside this, she worked as Associate Features Editor for Metro Society Magazine under ABS-CBN Publishing for eight years and subsequently wrote for several other publications, further developing her voice in storytelling.
She graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in BS Communications Technology Management and completed a foreign exchange program at the National University of Singapore. She has written for The Guidon and previously served as editor-in-chief of her high school publication.
