Johnel “Jho” Castillo is a Filipino visual artist and a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts. He is the eldest son of renowned painter Nelson Castillo, who is widely recognized as the “Father of Miniature Paintings” in the Philippines. From a young age, Jho showed a strong interest in art. As a child, he enjoyed drawing human figures, portraits, robots from TV shows, and cars. Over the years, his passion for art grew, and he began exploring different styles and techniques. He is now focused on mastering Abstract Cubism and is also well known for his rooster paintings, which he creates using his own unique approach. His work reflects both his artistic growth and personal style, making him a distinct voice in the local art scene.
