Visual Artist

Dennis Capili is a visual artist based in Singapore whose creative journey began in the Philippines, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Advertising from Far Eastern University – Manila. From the outset of his academic life, Capili demonstrated a strong commitment to artistic excellence. As a student, he gained recognition as a finalist in two of the country’s most prestigious art competitions, the Shell National Students Art Competition (NSAC) and the Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE). These achievements not only marked him as a promising talent early on, but also opened the doors to broader artistic opportunities and critical engagement.

Alongside his competitive accomplishments, Capili actively participated in numerous group exhibitions in the Philippines, allowing him to share his works with a wider audience and establish a growing presence in the local art scene. His early works are grounded in realism, where technical precision and representational clarity take center stage. This foundation laid the groundwork for his deep understanding of form, light, and detail elements that continue to inform his evolving visual language. 

Currently, Capili is expanding his practice into abstraction, embracing a more intuitive, exploratory approach to visual expression. This shift marks a significant phase in his artistic development, as he seeks to balance structure and spontaneity, form and feeling. His recent explorations delve into texture, movement, and mood, offering a fresh perspective while still echoing the discipline and depth of his realist roots.
