Raphael Barroso
Raphael Barroso is a Filipino artist known for his textured abstract works that reflect his personal journey and creative exploration. His path into the art world began when his family hosted a group exhibition for a cause, where most of his pieces were sold and a significant portion of the proceeds was donated to the Acike Center in Uganda, South Africa. This early experience sparked a deeper appreciation for art and its potential to connect and inspire.
In the years that followed, Barroso pursued painting more seriously, translating his life experiences into visual form. He works primarily from his studio in Merville, Parañaque City, and also accepts a range of commissioned projects.
In 2023, he opened his own gallery and curated a group exhibition featuring respected artists. Since then, he has continued to participate in various group shows that have encouraged his growth and deepened his commitment to his craft. Through his ongoing curatorial efforts, he hopes to create opportunities for fellow artists to showcase their work and engage wider audiences.
“My vision as an artist is to share my life experiences and express them through art.” —Raphael Barroso
