Antonio Daroy

Antonio Daroy

Antonio Morilao Daroy is a Filipino-American artist whose imaginative and organic approach to art blurs the boundaries between abstraction and realism. Rooted in a philosophy that imagination fuels creation, his work fuses bold color, layered textures, and rhythmic patterns to evoke a childlike spontaneity balanced by serious, thoughtful composition. His subjects—nudes, landscapes, and still lifes—are reimagined through freer forms, playful symbolism, and a touch of subconscious wit, creating pieces that are both visually striking and deeply expressive.

A graduate of the University of the Philippines with further studies in Graphic Design in Philadelphia, Daroy launched his career with a solo exhibition in 1970 at Fort Santiago sponsored by the National Museum. Since then, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions across the U.S., Germany, and the Philippines. Now based in Nevada, he continues to produce and exhibit his work full-time, earning multiple awards, including top honors in painting competitions. He is an active member of the International Artists Support Group and the Center for the Arts in Southern New Jersey.
