Al Vargas
Al Vargas’ passion for the arts started early in his life, having taken a vocational course in Graphic Arts during his high school years in preparation for a course in architecture or engineering. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and later pursued a Master’s in Business Administration.
Vargas’ career started in the Philippines, where he worked in the technical and industrial design divisions of appliance manufacturers. After moving to the United States, he worked with a contractor in design and estimating, where he continued to hone his technical skills.
In his free time, Vargas pursued his love for photography. He goes hiking on weekends taking breathtaking shots of the forests in Maryland and Virginia. He then used his photos as inspiration for his paintings, where he would capture the beauty of nature through his art.
Upon returning to the Philippines, Vargas took up painting once again getting encouragements from his friends. He continued to learn and improve his skills as he went, dedicating his free time to creating art pieces that reflected his appreciation for nature. Vargas’ background in graphic arts and design provided a strong foundation for his artistic endeavors, as he incorporated design principles in his works.
