Al Vargas

Al Vargas embarked on a lifelong artistic journey rooted in his early passion for the arts. During his high school years, he made a deliberate choice to enroll in a Graphic Arts vocational course as a stepping stone towards a potential career in architecture or engineering. With this solid foundation, he went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and further enriched his knowledge by obtaining a Master’s in Business Administration.

His professional career initially took root in the Philippines, where he contributed his technical and industrial design expertise to appliance manufacturers. Upon relocating to the United States, Vargas continued to sharpen his technical skills while collaborating with a contractor, gaining valuable experience in design and estimating. This dual pursuit of engineering and artistry illustrates the versatility and growth potential that comes from pursuing one’s passions.

In his leisure time, Vargas nurtured his love for photography, embarking on weekend hikes to capture the awe-inspiring landscapes of Maryland and Virginia. These photographs became a wellspring of inspiration for his paintings, allowing him to convey the innate beauty of nature through his artistic expressions. Upon returning to the Philippines, Vargas rekindled his passion for painting, encouraged by his friends and drawing upon his rich background in graphic arts and design. This fusion of disciplines enabled him to create artworks that showcased his profound appreciation for the natural world. Vargas’ journey serves as a testament to the immense value of pursuing one’s passions and the remarkable synergy that arises from diverse experiences.
