Uygongco’s artistic journey began after his secondary education at San Agustin College in Iloilo City. He then pursued his studies in Architectural Rendering at the esteemed Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila. However, it was his innate talent and relentless passion for art that truly defined his path. Despite not receiving formal training in the fine arts, Uygongco developed a unique style that captivates viewers and draws them into his vivid and imaginative worlds.

What distinguishes Uygongco’s artistry is his unwavering focus on conveying a determined sense of structure, often highlighted by expansive open spaces. His favorite subjects include breathtaking sunrises and sunsets on the beaches of the Philippines, charming cottages nestled in small towns and villages across Asia, and timeless castles and edifices scattered throughout Europe. Uygongco primarily utilizes watercolor and pen-and-ink as his mediums of choice, allowing him to bring his visions to life with remarkable precision and depth.

Uygongco’s talent has not gone unnoticed in the art world. He has held three successful solo exhibitions, each showcasing his mastery of composition, color, and technique. Currently, Uygongco is diligently working on his fourth exhibition, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to share his latest creations with art enthusiasts worldwide.

One significant milestone in Uygongco’s artistic career was his invitation to join Kulay sa Tubig in 2019. This esteemed organization recognizes and celebrates exceptional watercolor artists in the Philippines. Uygongco’s inclusion in this prestigious group is a testament to his artistic excellence and his ability to evoke emotions through his brushstrokes.

Furthermore, Uygongco’s talents have been acknowledged internationally, with his paintings juried into various esteemed exhibitions. His works have been featured in Fabriano in Aquarello Italy in 2018, 2019, and 2020, highlighting his global reach and acclaim. He has also participated in the International Watercolor Society (IWS) biennale exhibits in Hong Kong, Albania, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Nepal over the past seven years. Moreover, Uygongco has made notable contributions to the IWS-Philippines Watercolor Convention and Exhibit, held at the GSIS Museo ng Sining in 2017 and 2018.
