Shiela Molato
Shiela Molato, born in 1986, is a talented artist residing in Iloilo City. While initially pursuing a career in the medical field after obtaining her degree, she spent several years practicing locally and internationally. However, Molato’s true passion lies in the realm of creativity, which led her to embark on a new journey as a photographer for a European-run studio.
Throughout her artistic journey, Molato has showcased her works extensively in both the Visayas and Manila, captivating audiences and garnering the attention of local and international collectors. Notably, she has received numerous commissions from esteemed patrons.
Molato’s artistic style is characterized by the incorporation of industrial materials into her abstract paintings. Inspired by Architecture and Interior Design, her practice thrives on pushing the boundaries of materials and exploring innovative forms.
Alongside her artistic pursuits, Shiela Molato holds key positions within the art community. She currently serves as the Vice President of Hubon Ilonggo, the largest visual artists’ collective in Western Visayas. Additionally, she played a significant role as the Island Coordinator for ViVa ExCon 2020 and served as the gallery director of Mamusa Gallery.
